MOAB 2002
Our first trip to Moab will not be our last!
OK, here's the pictures! We actually took more shots of the scenery, but I managed to get a few of us wheelin'! I'm already saving my pennies to go back next year! I now know why everybody raves about this place.

Gold Bar Rim Trail
This started out a an easy trail over roads and some slickrock. Then we found this big rock! At first I thoought " No way", then I decided to give the YJ a chance. She crawled right up and over. That's it...I was hooked! |
Fins -n- Things!
Not only is this a really fun trail, the markers are pretty cool too. We will be running it again next time we're in Moab!

On To The Trail.....
One of the first steep drops on Fins and Things. Seemed either my windshield was full of mother earth, or the clear blue Utah sky on this trail. |
Down We Go Again.
Lower gears are on the shopping list, by the way....

All these steep drops made me realize my poor little 4 banger is starting to get weak in it's old age. |
Stopped for a break on the Fins...
Here's our family of Jeeps. With my brother in law in the lead with his '98 TJ, the two stock TJ's tucked safely between us, and your's truly as tailgunner for the trip.

Baby Lions Back
Once up this little piece of slick rock, a twisting narrow trail leads you to an equally, if not steeper drop off on the back side. Or at least it felt like it! |
Kane Creek Canyon Trail
OK,OK,....so I had to catch a little air for the camera! Can't a guy have a little fun?

Wash-out on Kane Creek Canyon
This was much nastier than it looks. Now nasty you ask? The two stock TJ's didn't try it, and the Trac-Loc in my brother in law's TJ didn't quite get him out. With only a rear locker, I made it out, but....take a look at the next picture. |
|
Kane Creek Canyon Carnage!
This is my front trac bar and attach bracket. The bracket *used* to be welded to the frame! It made one of those wonderful banging noises none of us like to hear when it let go. Which was just a few minutes after my wife said, "It's our last day....It's OK if he breaks the Jeep on this one." NEVER let your wife say things like that on the trail!
